Education
Richard Gaines, MD attended the Boston University School of Medicine and graduated in 1981. After this, he completed his internship at the Tufts University of Medicine and his residency at the Harvard School of Medicine. Dr. Gaines specialized in anesthesiology at the Harvard Brigham Women's hospital and subsequently served as a physician at Huntington Memorial Hospital and an anesthesiologist at Harvard Community Health and Sheridan Healthcorp.
Dr. Richard Gaines focused heavily on the role of the physician early in his career. He was a believer that the physician should not focus solely on suppressing symptoms and prescribing medications, but rather treating the underlying causes of these symptoms and correcting the problem at the source. He believed that there was a lack of attention placed on actually correcting diseases and that the majority of physicians were too focused on masking these symptoms with prescription medication. He saw time and time again patients whose medical conditions never improved and who became dependent on the prescriptions they were constantly being fed.
Dr. Gaines believed that conventional medicine was leaving far too many patients with more problems rather than solutions following treatment. He resolved to find a new approach to healing that preserved health and wellness before disease and aging had a chance to take hold of their lives. The breakthrough moment for Dr. Gaines came in the form of a landmark new study that surfaced in 1990 entitled "Effects of Human Growth Hormone in Men over 60 Years Old."
As reported in The New York Times,
"The authors found that after six months of injections of a genetically engineered version of the natural HGH, the men emerged with bodies that by many measures were almost 20 years younger than the ones they started with."
This included improvements to cardiac, sexual, mental, and skin health due to the ability for this type of treatment to utilize natural healing processes in the body that are stifled by routine prescription medications and poor lifestyle habits. The study concluded, "Since atrophy of muscle and skin contributes to the frailty of older people, the potential benefits of growth hormone merit continuing attention and investigation."
Since then, hundreds of clinical studies have explored the genetic, environmental, dietary, and lifestyle factors that contribute to aging and disease. It is increasingly clear that many of these effects can be reduced or eliminated through preventative treatments involving hormones and a more patient-centered approach.
Innovations by Richard Gaines, MD
In 2016 Dr. Richard Gaines pioneered a very popular and successful pulse therapy that helped thousands of men across the country to combat the debilitating effects of Erectile Dysfunction. He has spent a lot of time introducing and training other physicians by speaking at medical symposiums.
Recently he has developed a newer and more potent treatment option that utilizes a focused pulse energy in combination with stem cells exosomes to reverse and treat erectile dysfunction. Today, Dr. Richard Gaines is at the forefront of this rapidly evolving sexual health paradigm and continues to innovate with new anti-aging treatments to extend the number of healthy years for his patients.
